About Me

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2009 and have decided to share my story in the hopes that I might be able to help someone else facing this life-changing diagnosis. This can be such a frightening and vulnerable time in your life, for both you, your family members and friends. I remember thinking how and why was this was happening to me … the age old cliche! I felt I lived a fairly healthy lifestyle, so this diagnosis just didn’t seem fair. I’ve since learned that cancer shows no favourtism, it was just a journey I was forced to travel down. I had a mastectomy in April, followed by 8 rounds of chemotherapy and a year of herceptin therapy. This was such a personal journey for me, but it did have it’s silver linings. I met some wonderful people along the way, that gave me the strength to get through it. I also had many family and friends who were there for me as well, and rekindled some relationships that had been taken for granted. But most importantly I got the opportunity to dig deep into my heart and soul and really get to know myself again. It had been a long time since I had been challenged to see the real me. Although it was hard at first, I was surprised by the strength, compassion and respect I had for myself. I was a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend … and I had a life to live!

It was this energy that has brought me to opening “Still Me” Pink Ribbon Boutique. I truly wanted to give back to others as they travel a similar journey. Becoming a certified breast fitter and opening my small business gives me the opportunity to help women feel good about themselves, and regain their confidence. We are all ’still us’ inside, and there are so many wonderful products to help us feel confident and beautiful, as we all deserve. Please review the products and services, and call me if you would like an appointment for a breast fitting, or just to view what options you have available.

Our lives are impacted by certain people and events throughout our lives, and I truly believe we become stronger women by the journeys we conquer together. Thank you and I look forward to helping you.
